MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) party got 112 seats after all the votes have been counted, while Maduro’s United Socialist Party of Venezuela got 55 in the Sunday elections, according to the national electoral council.
"I shall never agree to any law of amnesty, they could bring thousands of laws to me, but the killers of the people must be held accountable," Maduro said Tuesday, as quoted by the Globovision television channel.
A series of protest against high levels of violence, record inflation and shortages of basic goods took place across Venezuela between February and June of last year. The Venezuelan government deemed the protests to be coup attempts and arrested a number of opposition leaders.
