MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A group of MiG-31 Foxhound supersonic interceptor aircraft from Russia's Pacific Fleet Kamchatka-based naval aviation squadron has practiced air combat maneuvering at different speeds and heights, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement Thursday.
"Fighter pilots performed offensive and counter missile maneuvers. The execution of flight tasks was complicated by rough weather," the statement reads.
The squadron’s commander, Lt. Col. Sergei Koderle, was cited by the ministry as saying that all of the crews involved in the exercise had successful proven their qualifications while performing the tasks.
