MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Geneva has raised the alert level in the city as local police hunt for suspects involved in the November 13 Paris attacks, Swiss officials said on Thursday.
"As part of investigations carried out following the Paris attacks, at an international and national level, Geneva police and their partners are actively searching for people whose description has been provided by the Swiss Confederation," the Geneva Department of Security said in a statement on its website.
The department said that additional police forces had been deployed across Geneva, and the security alert level had been raised.
On November 13, terrorists attacked several venues around Paris, killing 130 people and injuring over 360. Islamic State (IS or Daesh,) which is outlawed in Russia, claimed responsibility for the attacks. The main suspect in the Paris attacks, who is believed to have traveled to France from Belgium to commit the attacks, remains at large.
