WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Thursday its nominees for the Best Director category in the 2016 Golden Globe Awards.
The list of nominees includes Todd Haynes for the movie Carol, Tom McCarthy who directed Spotlight, which depicts the journalistic investigation into crimes committed by the Catholic Church in the United States, and Australian George Miller for the action movie Mad Max: Fury Road.
Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, the 2015 award winner, was also nominated for his work on The Revenant, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio.
The 73rd Annual Golden Globes will be presented on January 10 in Los Angeles.
