PARIS, December 10 (Sputnik) – The latest version of the draft Paris Climate Agreement, which is expected to be finalized by Friday and is "extremely close to the finishing line," recognizes the target of limiting temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
"There are some area which are particularly complex, which still remain in brackets. I am specifically referring to Differentiation, Finance and Ambition and so we will have to have final discussion on that on the coming hours," Fabius said.
Currently reviewing the updated draft, the negotiators are expected to proceed to final talks closer to midnight Paris time (23:00 GMT).
"The text moves on with a range of choices, we have done this with a desire to achieve a balanced impartial deal, always trying to reconcile different positions," Fabius added.
French Foreign Minister and host of the UN COP21 conference Laurent Fabius said earlier the nearly 200 negotiators were "extremely close to the finishing line."
"It will allow us to complete the final lap which separates us form the universal, legally binding, ambitious, fair…agreement which the world is waiting for," he added.
