According to Yle news agency, the Finnish Border Guard reported that an 'unidentified helicopter' heading from Russia had allegedly violated the country’s airspace.
After the Finnish Air Force issued several warnings to the intruder, the helicopter reportedly flew back to Russia, Yle adds.
The unidentified craft had allegedly ventured nine kilometers deep into the Finnish airspace and spent about six minutes there.
Earlier on Thursday, Georgia issued similar claims that a Russian Mi-8 had violated Georgian airspace. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov denied these accusations, pointing out that the Georgian officials based their claims on unconfirmed reports by "some local witnesses."
