ROME (Sputnik) — A US-led international coalition has been carrying out a campaign against Daesh, a group outlawed in a number of countries including Russia, in Syria and Iraq since 2014. The campaign has not been approved by the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.
“Aside from the physical expansion of the coalition, it is important to pay attention to the quality of the work it conducts,” Lavrov said.
Russian jets commenced a separate military operation against Daesh and other extremists in Syria on September 30, following a request from Syrian President Bashar Assad.
