KIEV (Sputnik) – Work on the 2016 budget went into overtime as the government and lawmakers grappled with divisions over tax reforms, due to come into force next year.
"Today, the government presents… the state budget to parliament," Yatsenyuk said in the legislature as he delivered the annual report.
Lawmakers are opposed to the government’s plan of raising taxes to boost budget revenues. Ukraine must also adopt austerity measures to secure a $1.7-billion loan from the International Monetary Fund.
