MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Nearly 200 countries have agreed to curb emissions beyond 2020 and fuel the transition toward a clean energy world economy, 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) host and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said earlier.
"We are satisfied because the negotiations took into account our main proposals. Now we have to ratify the agreement through the adoption of an appropriate federal law," Donskoy said.
The 31-page pact commits countries to hold global average temperatures to "well below" 2 degrees Celsius (35.6 Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels and urges them to "pursue efforts" to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
