MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is visiting China between December 14-17, where he is expected to discuss bilateral relations with the country's leadership and to sign a number of intergovernmental agreements.
"Russian-Chinese relations are characterized by a high level of mutual political confidence. This high level of mutual confidence allows us to consider each other as absolutely equal partners… Our relations are innovative relations," Zhang said.
He added that Russia and China's cooperation has reached a strategic level, adding that the two countries have concluded more than 300 intergovernmental treaties in a wide range of spheres.
China is Russia's leading economic partner. In 2014, bilateral trade between the countries amounted to $95 billion. Currently, the two countries are actively cooperating in a multitude of fields, most notably on energy, infrastructure, finance and defense.
