MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia previously offered to restructure Ukraine's $3-billion debt, suggesting yearly installments of $1 billion between 2016 and 2018, based on guarantees from the United States, the European Union or other international financial institutions.
"So far, [Europeans] have not explained it, strictly speaking, a formal response to our appeal to the European Union has not yet been received," Chizhov told the Rossiya-1 television channel.
Chizhov added that the agenda of the upcoming EU summit due to be held Thursday includes the Russia-Ukraine issue.
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to file a lawsuit against Ukraine if Kiev fails to repay its debt to Moscow by the December 20 deadline.
