MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The foundation filed a lawsuit to protect the honor, dignity and business reputation of the authors of its investigation into Chaika’s activities. The documentary accused Chaika of abusing his position to help his two sons – Artyom and Igor – with their business ambitions. Chaika denies the allegations, calling them baseless and deliberately false.
"The lawsuit was returned to the applicant, as it is outside the jurisdiction of the Presnensky court," the spokeswoman told RIA Novosti.
Earlier in the day, Chaika said a large-scale smear campaign against him was being sponsored by Bill Browder, a financial investor and former employer of auditor Sergei Magnitsky, who was convicted in absentia by a Russian court in 2013 in the Magnitsky case on charges of evading millions of dollars in taxes.
