The Italian newspaper named the West, Russia, the Islamic world and China as the key centers of the multipolar world. The so-called Russian pole appeared as a result of America's attitude towards Moscow. It was further reinforced following the outbreak of the Ukrainian civil war, Russia's reunification with Crimea and subsequent sanctions the West imposed on Moscow, the media outlet noted.
"The Islamic pole appeared because the US turned its back on Russia and instead cemented traditional alliances with oil-producing Islamic countries," the Italian newspaper noted.
This process, according to the media outlet, took place at the same time when Westernization of the Islamic world gave way to the rise of fundamentalist Islam in the region.
"The United States overthrew secular regimes in the Middle East paving the way for jihadists backed by Saudi Arabia, other Gulf nations, Pakistan and Turkey," the newspaper asserted.
