MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian military will help coordinate efforts by the Syrian army and numerous armed opposition groups in the fight against Daesh, the Russian General Staff said Tuesday.
"I want to emphasize that we are planning to continue work aimed at uniting the effort by the government forces and [opposition] groups that are interested in liberating Syria from international terrorists," Lt. Gen. Sergey Rudskoy, chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said in a statement.
