TOKYO (Sputnik) — Japan’s Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation will delay the delivery of the first Mitsubishi Regional Jets (MRJ) to All Nippon Airways until at least 2018, local media reported Thursday.
MRJs, the first commercial airliners built in Japan in half a century, were initially due to be delivered between April and June 2017. Japan’s Kyodo news agency said that the company had not disclosed the reason for the delay.
The airliner was manufactured by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp together with its parent company, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. It was presented to the public in October 2014 and made its maiden flight last month.
