MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The second Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) will be held in Russia's far eastern city of Vladivostok on September 2-3, 2016, Russian presidential adviser Anton Kobyakov said.
A month ago the organization in charge of preparing the EEF 2016, Roscongress Foundation, reported that the event was scheduled to take place on September 6-7.
"The second Eastern Economic Forum, planned for September 2-3 in Vladivostok, will open a series of important political events in the region," Anton Kobyakov was quoted by the Roscongress Foundation as saying.
The first EEF was held in Vladivostok on September 3-5 and resulted in the signing of agreements worth a total of 1.3 trillion rubles (about $18.3 billion at the current exchange rate).
The forum brought together business and government representatives along with industry experts from Russia and Asia-Pacific countries to discuss the economic potential of Russia's Far East and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as cooperation and investment opportunities.
