WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The negotiations between 18 foreign ministers of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG), who gathered in New York City for a new round of talks on the Syrian conflict, are going on in a regular manner, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters on Friday.
"It’s normal," Lavrov said when asked about the atmosphere at the negotiations table.
Participants of the negotiations also include US State Secretary John Kerry, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura, Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation representatives.
World and regional leaders of the ISSG are tasked with drafting a UN Security Council resolution to settle the nearly five-year Syrian crisis, upholding commitments reached at the second ISSG round in November.
