DUBAI (Sputnik) – The participants of the talks on the Yemeni settlement, which are currently taking place in Switzerland, have agreed to create a committee to oversee ceasefire implementation, media reported.
"There has been an agreement to create a neutral military coalition which will supervise the implementation of the ceasefire regime," a source told the Bahraini al-Wasat newspaper on Saturday.
Since 2014, Yemen has been in a state of military conflict, between the government headed by Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and Houthi rebels.
In late March, a Saudi-led international coalition started carrying out airstrikes against Houthi positions at Hadi’s request.
On Tuesday, a seven-day ceasefire between the Saudi-led coalition and the Houthis was enforced for the time of the intra-Yemeni talks in Geneva, which are expected to continue until Monday.
