Traders usually sell weapons left after the armed conflicts in the Balkans, as well as those remade from decorative into combat ones, the article said.
European security services are strengthening monitoring activities to prevent the use of the weapons by terrorist groups. However, EU authorities are not yet able to completely solve this problem.
Earlier, it was reported that the Serbian authorities arrested two possible members of a criminal group, suspected of weapons smuggling. In early November, security services stopped a truck in Bavaria on its way to Paris, where there were eight Kalashnikovs, pistols, revolvers and grenades.
According to the newspaper, the price of illegal weapons is decreasing due to the high supply on the black market, which is why the terrorists and criminals can easily buy Kalashnikovs.
Previous reports revealed that some of the weapons used during the recent terrorist attacks in Paris were made in Serbia in the late 1980s. The attacks claimed lives of 130 people; over 360 civilians were injured.
