MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton accused her Republican rival Donald Trump of becoming the best recruiter for Daesh (the Islamic State) militant group, claiming that the extremists use Trump’s videos to incite hatred.
"We also need to make sure that the really discriminatory messages that Trump is sending around the world don't fall on receptive ears. He is becoming ISIS's best recruiter. They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists," Clinton said at the Democrat debate on Saturday, as quoted by The Washington Post newspaper.
Trump has made numerous controversial statements about Muslims during his presidential campaign. Earlier this month, Trump urged the United States to stop the arrivals of all Muslims until a counterterrorism plan was established. The comments stirred up widespread condemnation.
In November, he said on two separate occasions that they were celebrating the September 11, 2001, extremist attacks in the United States and proposed a mandatory database of Muslims.
Daesh is outlawed in numerous countries worldwide, including Russia.
