"It is important to promote political reforms, but not to boost them as it happened during the Arab Spring by overthrowing the regime, and then everything [will turn out] by itself, and democracy will be achieved by itself. It is necessary to help countries of the region that have been stirred up by outside interference and whose statehood has been seriously weakened, and thereby limited these countries’ ability to withstand the terrorist threat," Lavrov stated in the film by Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov that was broadcast on Rossiya-1 television channel.
