MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, a Boeing 777 with 473 people on board, traveling from Mauritius to Paris, made an emergency landing in Kenya after a passenger found the suspicious object in the plane’s restroom.
Since their return from Kenya at around 7 a.m. local time (06:00 GMT) on Monday, the two suspects have been held in custody and questioned by French border police, BFM TV news outlet reported.
On Sunday, the Kenya Airports Authority released an official statement regarding the incident in which it said local security services had moved the "bomb" to a safe place outside the airport to be examined. However, the word "bomb" was later removed from the official statement.
