WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — "In Syria, coalition military forces conducted three strikes using ground-attack and remotely piloted aircraft," the release said. "In Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 12 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using attack, fighter, bomber, ground-attack, and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL [Islamic State] targets."
The coalition conducted 12 airstrikes on Sunday near three Iraqi cities to the north and west of Baghdad, including Ramadi and Mosul. The strikes hit multiple Daesh tactical units and fighting positions, among other infrastructure targets, and denied the terrorists access to terrain.
Meanwhile, Moscow has also continued its air campaign in Syria against the Islamic State, which is outlawed in Russia. President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that Russia's capabilities in Syria are not limited to the army, navy and aviation and Moscow could use other means, if necessary, in its operation against Daesh.
