MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Daesh controls large swathes of land in oil-rich Syria, Iraq and Libya. Earlier in December, the Russian Defense Ministry presented evidence showing that the jihadists had been smuggling oil across the porous Syria-Turkey border in large volumes.
"Turkey is supporting Daesh by buying oil from them, and hospitalizing their fighters. We won't accept that [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, the leader of Turkey, will help ISIS any longer," the international hacktivist collective said in the video.
Last week, the group of Internet activists brought down up to 40,000 websites across Turkey through targeted attacks on the state’s "root servers."
Anonymous warned that its members would continue attacks on servers of Turkish airports, banks, military services and government institutions as long as the country’s authorities kept on backing the ISIL extremists, banned in a number of countries, including Russia.
The announcement comes as a follow-up to the release of another video, in which Anonymous declared it would wage the biggest cyberwar campaign ever on the IS jihadists following the deadly November 13 attacks in Paris that left some 130 dead and injured over 360.
