WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Ford Motor Company announced on Tuesday a recall of 313,000 luxury Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles, the latest in a series of recalls by the US No. 2 car maker.
"The defect involves a lighting module, with solder joints that could crack and interrupt power to the headlights," Ford said in a statement.
Ford explained in the statement it is aware of 11 reports of accidents and one report of a minor injury related to the issue of failing headlights.
In Tuesday's notice, Ford also stated it is recalling 177 pickup trucks with potentially defective breaks.
The announcement marked the third major recall since April, when Ford notified owners of nearly 400,000 vehicles in the United States of defective latches that could cause doors to swing open while moving.
In November, Ford recalled 450,000 vehicles to repair a potential fuel leak.
