The new anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the United States will have no effect on the activities of Crimea's Sevastopolsky Morskoy Bank included in the sanctions list, the bank's treasury representative told Sputnik on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Alexander Mosesov — On Tuesday, the United States extended its anti-Russian sanctions over Ukraine by targeting 34 individuals and entities.

"Practically nothing [will happen because of the sanctions]. Right now, it was just de jure secured what de facto happened a year ago. Foreign banks are no longer carrying out payments that have to do with Crimea and Sevastopol. Nothing terrible will happen," the representative said.

Russia Should Respond Tit-for-Tat to New US Sanctions - Minister
Earlier in the day, Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said Russia should respond to the new US sanctions tit-for-tat.

The United States, the European Union and their allies imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow in 2014 over Crimean reunification with Russia and Moscow's alleged meddling in Ukraine’s internal affairs. These allegations have been repeatedly refuted by Russia.
