France Upholds Citizenship Deprivation of Binational Terrorists
13:22 GMT 23.12.2015 (Updated: 13:24 GMT 23.12.2015) The French government decided to maintain its decision to strip the French binational terrorists off their citizenship, Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Wednesday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The measure was first introduced by the French President Francois Hollande on November 16 in the wake of the deadly November 13 attacks in Paris that claimed lives of 130 people.
"Today our law has established the stripping off nationality of dual-nationality citizens who are convicted of terror acts," Valls said during a press conference.

The measure concerns only those criminals who were not born in France, he added.
The extension was presented in the Council of Ministers as part of a draft bill on constitutional reform to protect France.
Over 1,000 French citizens are fighting in Iraq and Syria along the Islamic State (IS, or Daesh in Arabic) jihadist group, outlawed in Russia, according to the French prime minister.
