Russia's oil exports are expected to grow by 7.5 percent to 238 million metric tons (tonnes) in 2015, the first increase in the past six years, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia exported a total of 221.3 million tonnes of oil in 2014 and produced 358.2 million tonnes of coal in 2014.

"We are increasing oil exports this year for the first time in six years…to 238 million tonnes," Novak said.

Coal exports are likely to remain unchanged from last year at the level of 155 million tonnes, the minister added. Coal production in Russia is expected to grow by 4.1 percent to 373 million tonnes in 2015.

According to Novak, Russia will decrease production of natural gas in 2015 by 1.4 percent to 633 billion cubic meters but will boost gas exports by 4.9 percent to 190 billion cubic meters.

In 2014, Russia produced 641.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas and exported 181.2 billion cubic meters, including liquefied natural gas (LNG).
