Officials from Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport told NBC that one of the airport’s two terminals was blocked by hundreds of protesters, causing backups on nearby roads. The march moved to the airport after the mall protest was shut down by police.

The mall had previously requested a restraining order against the Minneapolis Black Lives Matter group, asking the court to bar them from "engaging in any demonstration on MOA Premises without the express, written permission of Mall of America." The order was granted, but only against the three organizers.

The demonstrators demand justice for 24-year-old Jamar Clark, who was killed by Minneapolis Police in November.

Witnesses claimed that Clark was handcuffed when he was shot in the head above his left eye. Police maintain that their initial investigation claims that he was not handcuffed.
“He was handcuffed. He wasn’t struggling,” Lisa Hoskins, who said she witnessed the shooting from the balcony of her apartment directly across the road, told the Guardian. “They told him to back up off the car, then they rushed him, put him in handcuffs,” she said. “That’s when you heard the ‘boom’.”
The officers were not wearing body cameras, and police state that various videos do not completely capture the actual shooting.
"When you disrupt their flow of capital… they actually start paying attention," Kandace Montgomery, one of three organizers barred by the judge's order, told NBC. "That's the only way that they'll hear us."
