MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ABC News’ Wednesday report, citing a Downing Street spokesman, the request came after several British Muslim nationals complained over being refused boarding.
A Muslim family was about to board a flight to Los Angeles only to have their visa waiver revoked. A British Imam had his visa revoked as he was trying to board a flight to New York, the media outlet reported.
In recent months, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has been at the center of controversy after he proposed banning Muslims from entering the United States and establishing an Islamic registry, as well as tighter surveillance of certain mosques.
