MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The explosion occurred in Nnewi, the second largest city in Nigeria’s Anambra State. According to Vanguard daily, over 100 people were killed in a fire resulting from the blast at the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) plant.
The explosion at the Inter Corp Oil Limited plant, a subsidiary of Chikason Group, occurred when a truck was discharging its contents at the facility, Vanguard said on Thursday.
The incident, which took place on Thursday morning, led to the death of both passers-by and customers who were getting a gas refill at the plant, the newspaper said.
