"In the framework of the agreement between Rosneft and the Esser group, large-scale supplies of petroleum and petroleum products to Indian refineries are planned in the amount of 10 million tonnes annually for 10 years," Putin said following talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Moscow.
Rosneft is additionally in talks with Oil India on joint investment projects, which the two leaders urged to finalize promptly. Oil India was said to be negotiating alongside Indian Oil Corp to purchase a stake of up to 29 percent in Rosneft’s project in Siberia as New Delhi seeks to secure overseas energy assets.
Indian companies have also expressed interest in liquefied natural gas deliveries from Novatek’s planned plant in the northern Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area Gydan Peninsula.
Other joint projects mentioned in the statement following Putin’s talks with Modi include helicopter engineering, navigation systems, cross-cutting technology development for the heavy engineering industry and an investment memorandum on solar plant construction.
