US-baked Free Syrian Army rebels have continued supplying al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups with US-made weaponry, according to sources in the Iranian Fars News Agency.
Syrian rebels have previously supplied TOW missiles to al-Qaeda-affiliated groups including the al-Nusra Front, as multiple reports and videos released by YouTube accounts affiliated with the group have indicated. The US military also operates a training program for FSA rebels, large numbers of whom defected to al-Nusra after completing their training in Turkey and infiltrating Syria.
"The FSA is working side-by-side with al-Qaeda-affiliated groups and supplying them with US-made arms supplied to them by certain Persian Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar in order to continue the fight against the Syrian Army," the message reported in the Fars News Agency said.
Through this alliance, several militant groups like the Al-Nusra Front and the Ahrar al-Sham movement have been given access to the FSA's US-made heavy weaponry, which has been supplied to the militant group by the US, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
According to the agency’s estimates, Saudi Arabia sent 500 TOW missiles to Al-Nusra directly in October.
