MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the statement, the anti-terrorism operations were held by joint efforts of Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and the country’s intelligence agency National Directorate of Security (NDS).
"The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Logar and Ghazni provinces, as a result 15 armed insurgents were killed and one was wounded," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that Afghan National Police confiscated various kinds of ammunition during the operations.
The situation in Afghanistan has significantly worsened in the last couple of months, with the Taliban and other extremist organizations, including the notorious Daesh group, taking advantage of instability in the country and launching offensive against the country’s big cities.
Daesh is a terrorist group outlawed in Russia and many other countries for its numerous atrocities.
