BELGRADE (Sputnik) –Serbia would like to provide itself with any alternative channels for the import of gas supplies, but so far there have been not offers, Serbian Prime Minster Aleksandar Vucic told Sputnik.
Serbia currently depends fully on gas from Russia delivered through pipelines running through Ukraine and Hungary. According to Vucic, Serbia does not want to have to rely on Moscow and Kiev’s relations and will try to secure itself from possible problems that may arise over transit gas.
“We never know what the relations will be like between Russia and Ukraine and Serbia will never be in the position to depend on their relations. Serbia is too small to participate in any way,” Vucic said in an interview.
“We don’t have any gas anywhere. We only have Russian gas that we take from the Beregovo [pipeline] running through the pipeline to our country,” Vucic said.
