MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A ship with 3,170 gallons of oil sank near the northwestern Albanian town of Shengjin, local media reported Wednesday.
According to Albania Daily News, the oil from the sunk vessel polluted the Adriatic Sea in the region of the accident.
The newspaper added that the authorities of Shengjin's port confirmed the accident and tried to cope with the consequences of the pollution.
There were no reports about the level of pollution and the volume of oil spilled in the sea.
