MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Around 5,000 paratroopers of Russian Airborne Forces will practice parachute jumps in the beginning of January 2016, an Airborne Forces spokesman said Wednesday.
"The Airborne Forces are planning to land from aircraft and helicopters of the military transport aviation around 5,000 parachutists in the course of two weeks in January of the next year," Lt. Col. Evgeny Meshkov told journalists.
He added that for that purpose over 300 flights would be conducted.
Meshkov added that the drills would be carried out on the territories of 12 Russian constituent entities.
