MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The analysis, published on Tuesday, predicted that "over the next 15 years, tax and social security policies will cause high incomes to rise by even more than we previously expected, and low incomes by even less."
The report summed up projected changes for household incomes and poverty in the country in the next 15 years since the May general election. If Tory decisions taken this year go unchanged, a further 1.9 million children will slide into poverty by Christmas 2030, the report warned.
This year marked the first time that a Conservative majority government was elected in almost 25 years. Prime Minister David Cameron's Cabinet immediately introduced a new round of cuts to social benefits, particularly felt by low-income families.
