WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Lockheed Martin has won a $1 billion contract from the US Air Force to provide 32 C-130J Super Hercules military airlift aircraft by 2020, the US Department of Defense announced.
“Lockheed Martin Corp., Marietta, Georgia, has been awarded a $1,060,940,036… contract for C-130J multi-year production aircraft,” the Defense Department said on Wednesday.
The company will build 32 new aircraft including one for the US Coast Guard, according to the announcement.
“Work will be performed at Marietta, Georgia, and is expected to be complete by April 30, 2020,” the Defense Department noted.
On November 11, the US government approved a $650 million sale for C-130J Super Hercules military transport airplanes and equipment to France.
