Obama Family Hawaii Getaways Cost $470K per Day

The documents reveal that the Obamas' daily expenses during the winter break at the island were estimated to be some $470K, the Washington Examiner reported. The totals to cover all seven of Obama's traditional vacations to Hawaii with his inner circle could be as much as $50 million, without taking into account another possible trip at the end of 2016.

Records reveal that at least $316K was spent by the Obamas during December 2013-January 2014 on Secret Service expenses, $91K on car rentals and $224K on accommodations at Cabana Girl, LLC and Paradise Luxury Rentals.

According to Judicial Watch, The Secret Service has been withholding the documents for nearly two years and only provided heavily redacted and incomplete records to Judicial Watch on December 28, 2015.

"It is easy to see why the Secret Service, reeling from its own scandals, covered up these outrageous expense numbers for just one of Obama's luxury Christmas vacation," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

"The $317,000 in Secret Service expenses are only the tip of the iceberg for the true cost of Obama's 2013 vacation in Hawaii, which has now skyrocketed to $8,098,060. It is nice to know that Obama's 'tradition' of Christmas vacations in Hawaii comes courtesy of overburdened taxpayers."
