Russian Scientists Develop New 'Super Collider' for CERN

Russian physicists at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, in Novosibirsk, are working on a particle accelerator that is expected to be the basis of the European Organization for Nuclear Research’s (CERN) new collider.

In 2014, it was decided to develop a draft circular collider complex that would replace the currently operational Large Hadron Collider.

According to Evgeny Levichev, "after some tests the institute suggested its own variant of the collider which was significantly different compared to CERN’s project at that time."
