After Amazon was heavily criticized for selling the bigoted group’s wordless track “Gemeinsam sind wir stark!” (Together we are strong), the online retailer issued a statement that may have irritated some group members, especially the neo-nazis among them.
Okay, I tried hard all year but you beat me in the end. 🏆 TROLL OF THE YEAR goes to #Amazon for the #Pegida #Campaign #refugeeswelcome

“Amazon’s profits from selling this song will go to a charitable organization for supporting refugees,” the statement reads.

Pegida organized anti-immigrant rallies in its home city of Dresden beginning in October 2014, attracting hundreds and later some thousands of supporters.
The far-right German group gained some sympathy from like-minded people in Spain and the United Kingdom, among other countries, amid rising anti-migrant fear, as Europe is experiencing the largest movement of refugees since World War II.
