The crews of over 60 Russian Navy warships, supply ships and submarines greeted New Year while completing missions at sea, the Russian Defense Ministry press service said on Friday.
The personnel of the ships received the congratulations from the High Command of the Navy, fleet commands, formations and captains.
"The crews of more than 60 warships, submarines and support ships greeted the New Year in different regions and climatic zones of the oceans without compromising the combat readiness and responsibility to complete their mission," it stated.
The first to celebrate New Year were sailors of the Pacific Fleet in Primorye and Kamchatka. Congratulations from Navy command were also received by the staff of the Navy Lighthouse Service, who ensure the smooth operation of lighthouses and navigation markers in the most remote areas of Russia.
