MOSCOW (Sputnik) – In no circumstances attacks on diplomatic representations can be considered legitimate means of protest or expression of political views, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"We would like to underline that attacks on foreign diplomatic missions cannot be considered, under any circumstances, as legitimate means of protest or expression of political views," the ministry said in a statement commenting on escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Sudan have earlier severed diplomatic relations with Tehran over attacks on Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran carried out by Iranian protesters in the wake of the execution of Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
