The four-month-old cub was found on January 4 and immediately moved to a rehabilitation center for tigers and other rare animals.
On December 30, 2015, another Amur tiger cub was found in the same area. It was also moved for rehabilitation and now is doing well.
The Amur tiger is an endangered tiger subspecies. As of 2015, its wildlife population was estimated 480-540 individuals. The Amur tiger mainly inhabits Russia’s Primorye and Khabarovsk Region.
