UAVs can be an efficient alternative to helicopters, police dogs and, in some instances, officers in search operations and during protests, according to the UK police.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — British police forces will use drones during burglary investigations and high-risk operations, local media reported Tuesday.
"If someone breaks into your shed and then makes off, and there are dozens of back sheds he might be hiding in…[so] drones could be the perfect solution," Association of Chief Police Officers' lead on drones Steve Barry said, quoted by The Times.

Police concluded that the unmanned aircraft with the remote control were an efficient alternative to helicopters, police dogs and, in some instances, police officers, so they are likely to be used in missing persons searches and during protests, according to the newspaper.
More than a quarter of 43 police forces in England and Wales are mulling introduction of the unmanned aircraft after successful completion of a test period, the media outlet reported.
