LOWELL (Sputnik) — US Presidential hopeful Donald Trump said he would annul the President Barack Obama’s health insurance program if elected President in the upcoming 2016 elections.
"We want good healthcare. Obamacare is a disaster. We are going to repeal it and replace it," Trump stated at a rally in Lowell, Massachusetts on Monday.
The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is a federal statute signed into law by Obama on March 23, 2010. Together with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act Amendment, it represents the most significant regulatory reconstruction of the US healthcare system since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965.
Trump is known as a sharp critic of Obama’s signature of the health care bill, which aims to make medical care accessible and affordable to every American.
In August, 2015, a survey of US health care consumers by Deloitte Center for Health Solutions revealed that only 30 percent of all Obamacare subscribers were satisfied with their insurance plan.
