Aleppo Governor Predicts Syrian Army's Imminent Victory Against Daesh

Syrian forces are continuing resistance against Islamists and the "early signs of the Syrian army's victory have already appeared," Olabi said in an interview with Iranian al-Alam news website, cited by Fars News.

According to him, terrorists will soon stop their attacks on Aleppo.

"Aleppo has been attacked by missiles and mortar shells from all sides but given the Syrian army's victories, these attacks will end soon," he added.

Replying to the question of why Aleppo became a target of such frequent terrorist attacks, the official said the province is an important Syrian trade hub and therefore a major rival for Turkey, which allegedly plotted the destruction of local manufacturing facilities to get rid of its major competitor on the international market.

Earlier reports said that the Syrian forces continued to drive the Islamists out of their positions in the province. A few days ago, the Syrian Army conducted three coordinated offensives against Daesh strongholds in the northern and northeastern areas of Aleppo province, killing dozens of terrorists, Fars News reported.
