MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The cover of the magazine's edition commemorating the anniversary of the deadly attack on the office of Charlie Hebdo with a picture of God with a rifle and blood on his hands was issued on Wednesday.

According to L'Osservatore Romano newspaper, using God's image to justify hatred is a "blasphemy."
The newspaper added that Charlie Hebdo's cover was disrespectful to adherents of all beliefs.
On January 7, 2015, the Paris office of the magazine known for publishing controversial caricatures of religious figures, was attacked by Islamist gunmen who killed 12 people and wounded 11, after the magazine published cartoons of Prophet Muhammad.
