BEIJING (Sputnik) – The United Kingdom has been expanding its relations with China, aiming for closer economic ties and more cooperation in addressing global challenges, including terrorism.
"UK PM David Cameron expected to visit China this year, says UK foreign secretary in Beijing," CCTV reported via Twitter on Thursday.
In October 2015, Chinese leader Xi Jinping paid a historic visit to the United Kingdom.
The two sides signed a number of bilateral deals and enjoyed both formal and informal communication.
During the visit, the Chinese leader said he was "deeply impressed" with China-UK relations, pointing out that the two countries have "shared interests."
Xi Jinping's October visit was the first high-level state visit by a Chinese leader to the United Kingdom in a decade.
